Calculate Agarose Amount for Gel Electrophoresis – Recommended Concentrations
This tool helps you with calculations for agarose gel electrophoresis.
- Specify the DNA size to see the recommended gel concentration, and calculate the required amount of agarose based on buffer volume.
- If the gel concentration is already determined, calculate the required amount of agarose based on buffer volume.
- If the agarose weight and buffer volume are known, calculate the gel concentration.
Recommended concentration: 0.5 %(w/v)
Description
- Agarose amount (by DNA size): Calculate the required amount of agarose from the target DNA size and buffer volume.
- Based on Thermo Fisher Scientific recommendations, the gel concentration is automatically selected according to DNA size.
- Formula:
Agarose (g) = Recommended concentration × Volume (mL) ÷ 100
- Agarose amount (by gel concentration): Calculate the required amount of agarose from the specified gel concentration and buffer volume.
- Formula:
Agarose (g) = Concentration (% (w/v)) × Volume (mL) ÷ 100
- Formula:
- Gel concentration: Calculate the gel concentration from the agarose weight and buffer volume.
- Formula:
Concentration (% (w/v)) = Agarose (g) ÷ Volume (mL) × 100

RNA-Seq Data Analysis Software
This is an RNA-Seq Data Analysis Software recommended for those who:
✔︎ Seeking to avoid outsourcing or collaboration for RNA-Seq data analysis.
✔︎ Lacking time to learn RNA-Seq data analysis.
✔︎ Frustrated by the complexity of existing tools.

Users can perform gene expression quantification, identification of differentially expressed genes, gene ontology(GO) analysis, pathway analysis, as well as drawing volcano plots, MA plots, and heatmaps.
