What is Protein Molecular Weight?

The molecular weight (MW) of a protein is calculated from the sum of the residue molecular weights of each amino acid in the sequence. It is essential for protein quantification and molar concentration calculations.

How It Works

  • The tool sums the average residue molecular weight of each amino acid and adds 18.02 Da for the terminal groups (N-terminal H + C-terminal OH).
  • Standard amino acid residue weights (Da): G = 57.05, A = 71.08, V = 99.13, L = 113.16, I = 113.16, P = 97.12, F = 147.18, W = 186.21, M = 131.19, S = 87.08, T = 101.11, C = 103.14, Y = 163.18, H = 137.14, D = 115.09, E = 129.12, N = 114.10, Q = 128.13, K = 128.17, R = 156.19

Description

  • Accepted characters: 20 standard amino acid one-letter codes (A, R, N, D, C, E, Q, G, H, I, L, K, M, F, P, S, T, W, Y, V).
  • Both uppercase and lowercase letters are accepted.
  • Numbers, spaces, and line breaks are automatically ignored.

RNA-Seq Data Analysis Software

This is an RNA-Seq Data Analysis Software recommended for those who:

✔︎ Seeking to avoid outsourcing or collaboration for RNA-Seq data analysis.

✔︎ Lacking time to learn RNA-Seq data analysis.

✔︎ Frustrated by the complexity of existing tools.

overview

Users can perform gene expression quantification, identification of differentially expressed genes, gene ontology(GO) analysis, pathway analysis, as well as drawing volcano plots, MA plots, and heatmaps.
